Noah is 5 weeks old today! To commemorate, here’s a video of him from a super close up perspective:
This week has been good, but challenging at the same time. The week started out pretty normal, and Noah did his usual feeding with some trouble but mostly OK. Kris and he ended up heading to a Ear, Nose, and Throat Doc to get his tongue checked out at the recommendation of the lactation consultants. Apparently he was a bit ‘tongue tied’ meaning the little piece of skin under his tongue was a bit tight, which made it hard for him to eat without giving Kris pain. They did a little snip and he’s been feeding much better since. I was surprised it made such a big difference, but it worked and Noah hasn’t really seemed to even notice (but Kris sure has!)

Later in the week I’ve had problems at work and had to switch my schedule over to afternoons, which kind of sucks for helping with Noah. He’s typically most fussy in the evenings, and now I was off at work so I wasn’t too able to help. This means lots of stress for poor Kris.
Here’s me trying to calm Noah down with the help of a mirror:

This weekend was our niece Natalie’s baptism in Rochester, MN, and unfortunately I couldn’t go. Kris was able to go still, she got picked up by Grandma and Grandpa Luikart and Noah and her made the trip. I’m hearing reports that it went well, and Noah likes rumble strips – they calm him down apparently.
Another thing that calms him down is his swing. He LOVES it!

I missed him and Kris quite a bit Saturday night when I was home alone, the place was really quiet. It’s been only 5 weeks but it was odd to have no noise at night when I was sleeping. I was glad when they got home a bit ago, Noah’s been in good hands though and I’m glad Kris got to go.
Bye bye for now!
