It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Luikart family, so our updates have been slacking. It was time for my annual fishing trip to Sturgeon Lake in Ontario, Canada the week prior to memorial day, which meant the week before that was spent trying to get ready and also trying to spend as much time with Kris and Noah as possible. It worked out pretty well that week, we got to hang out a bunch, have some dinners together, stuff like that.

On Friday the 21st, I headed up to Duluth to meet my Dad, Uncle Tim, and Ryan at my parents place to get heading to Canada in the morning. I’ll update on the Canada trip in another post as I’ve got some good photos to share from that. Here’s the post. Here’s a teaser shot though:

On that same day, Emily and IZ stopped by:

Also, since Mom was dropping Dad off at the airport, she then came up and stayed and our place to help Kris out as well as pick her up to spend the first few days of the next week with her down in Illinois. Emily was in Milwaukee and Chicago for a bit as well to do some wedding planning stuff and I think the girls kept pretty busy.

Thursday that week, the girls headed up to Stillwater, MN to pick up Aunt Laura, then headed to the cabin Friday.

On Saturday the families were all reunited – my Mom and Dad, my Uncle Tim and Laura, and of course myself, Kris, and Noah. We spend a bit of time together Saturday, then Tim and Laura headed home to Stillwater, and Kris, Noah, Mom, Dad, and the dogs were left to be around the cabin the rest of Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to catch back up on Noah’s new developments, and it was fun to finally get to go to our first dinner out without Noah since he was born (Thanks Mom & Dad for babysitting!)

We did a bit of hiking with Noah in his Baby Bjorn which works well, and we got to enjoy being in the big open spaces up there a bit too.

I even got out and did a sunrise shot one morning, and a sunset on another at Split Rock SP. Pics for that will be in another post, I haven’t had time to get those uploaded yet.
Noah found his first agates over the weekend too:

We headed back to the normal life on Tuesday, which went well – Noah really travelled pretty well in the car the whole way, just had to stop periodically to feed him, but that wasn’t too bad. We end up stopping some pretty funny places, this one was just a dirt road on the side of Hwy 53 North of Spooner.

As for an update on Noah, he’s doing well. He’s been extending the hours he’ll sleep at night in a row, he’s up to somewhere in the ballpark of 6-7hrs for his first sleep, then usually 3-4 or so for the 2nd stretch, then during the day he’s eating every 2 hours or so still. I’ve been feeding him a bottle in the evenings to let Kris go to the gym, run errands, whatever – mostly just getting her out of the house. It’s been nice too, so I’ve even had a chance to go Mountain Biking a little bit when it isn’t too wet/muddy.

He can roll over from his tummy to his back now pretty well, and is getting pretty close to rolling from back to front, but it’ll probably be a little bit on that still:

Videos are on their way!!

Thanks for the update. Even though I was around for many of the events you mentioned, it was fun to see the pictures. I have saved many of them to print off so that I can fill my purse with grandma photos of Noah and Natalie!
What if Noah decides to go to Purdue instead of UW? Doubt it will happen though after Uncle Iz tells Noah about his shenanigans when he was in college.
He found that agate? Wow, looks like one of mine
I tried to take a super close-up so it’d look bigger.
